Mallorca, a paradisiacal filming location

Hotel 5* Mallorca

The island of Mallorca is a true paradise, no doubt about that.

From our crystal clear waters, the pleasant climate, monumental and cultural richness to the greens of our Serra de Tramuntana.

Mallorca is enchanting and is chosen by more and more international film producers who see the potential of the island’s wonderful surroundings.

The last big one to do so was the British BBC who chose Mallorca for filming the miniseries “The Night Manager” starring Hugh Laurie.

Many beautiful Mallorcan landscapes can be seen in “The Night Manager”, like the Cala Deià, a wonderful cove close to Deià in the north-west of the island. Close to the Boutique Hotel Son Brull you can find the finca Sa Fortalesa, located above the cape of S’Avançada in Puerto de Pollensa, which can be seen in the trailer for the series.

Various scenes show the mountaintops of our majestic Serra de Tramuntana filmed from the Mediterranean Sea.

Viewers will also get to see some urban locations in the capital of the island, scenes filmed in the historic center of Palma for example on Plaza Drassanes, Plaza de Santa Eulália and the famous art gallery Hoorach Moyà among others.

The movie was shot in Mallorca last summer with renowned actors and the aforementioned Hugh Laurie who is known for his role as Dr. House in the legendary television series “House” is not the only famous one. Tom Hiddleston is also starring in “The Night Manager”, he is known for his performance in movies like Thor, The Avengers and War Horse.

The six-part series is based on a novel by John Le Carré and directed by Susanne Bier (famous for her work under the Dogme 95 movement) who won an Academy Award in 2010 for the drama thriller film “In a Better World” in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
