Like every year, the presentation of the Michelin Guide 2015 took place this past 19th of November in Marbella (Malága).
In this year’s edition two new Michelin stars have been awarded to two restaurants of the island. With these new stars, Mallorca now has a total of 7 Michelin stars.
The Simply Fosh restaurant, managed by the well-known English chef Marc Fosh, who lives in Mallorca, obtains its first star. However, this is not the first star for the chef who was previously awarded when cooking at the Bacchus restaurant in Santa Maria del Camí. Our chef at the Hotel Son Brull, Rafa Perelló, conducted part of his training alongside Marc Fosh.
The second new star has been awarded to chef Andreu Genestra and his restaurant Andreu Genestra in Capdepera (Artà). This young chef spent some time working in the kitchen of Hotel Son Brull and says about this time:
“The Relais Chateux Son Brull provided me with the vision of the select Mallorcan cuisine.”
The other 5 restaurants that were able to maintain their Michelin star are:
Es Molí d’en Bou, located in Sa Coma and managed by the chef Tomeu Caldentey.
Zaranda, run by the chef Fernando Pérez Arellano in Capdellà.
Restaurante Jardín, with Macarena de Castro in Alcúdia.
Es Racó d’es Teix, in the picturesque village of Deiá, run by the family Josef Sauerschell.
Restaurante Es Fum now with the chef Rafa Sánchez in Costa d’en Blanes.

The cuisine of the island has all reasons to celebrate and this is yet another achievement to prove that Mallorca is a fantastic destination for food lovers.
We at Hotel Son Brull are certain that you will not regret visiting our island.
